Grammar Goals

Grammar Goals is a new six-level grammar series for children aged 6-12 years, and an ideal supplement to any primary English course. It teaches grammar to young learners in a way that is relevant to them, by presenting language in lively, age-appropriate contexts, and clarifying form, function and meaning; while providing purposeful and communicative practice opportunities that reflect students’ real lives and interests.

The careful staging of the units provides three levels of challenge and success (bronze, silver and gold), motivating children and helping them to reflect on their progress.

Benchmarked to the CEFR, Grammar Goals offers practice in many of the key structures and vocabulary from external exams syllabuses, with regular exam-style practice exercises to improve preparation and confidence in the Cambridge English: Young Learners tests, and Key and Preliminary for Schools exams.

Interactive grammar boxes break down form and clarify use.

Cross-curricular topics link grammar to everyday life, teaching students about the world around them.

Exercises develop young learner competencies, such as thinking and interpersonal skills.

A separate writing syllabus teaches key skills and strategies.

Exam-style activities practice task-types, key structures and vocabulary from Cambridge English, including Young Learners, Key and Preliminary for Schools tests.

Step-by-step lesson notes with extra, mixed ability, and extension activities provide additional teacher support.

The Teacher's Resource Site offers ideas for grammar presentations, literacy and numeracy support worksheets, as well as a test builder.
